The last time this car was out on the racetrack was back in march of this year. Since then it has lied dormant in Tom’s garage collecting dust while all the parts were collected, inspected, rebuilt, and procured again. For the past two months, Tom has been feverishly working to get the project completed. Anticipation is slowly setting in for all of us. Look out for this monster when it debuts at Sonoma Raceway on October 23-24 for Redline Time Attack.

CalSpeed Karting held Round 2 of their new Super Series this past weekend on the 21st. As with the first round, it turned out to be an all day affair, with the Sprint GP (with 36 drivers) in the morning, and the Ironman Enduro (with 20 drivers) in the afternoon. With four bad karts out of the six karts I had all day, getting spun out in one of the heat races, and getting underpowered karts, I had a field day trying to get a decent finish.

CalSpeed Karting held their inaugural race for their new Super Series League on last July and I have to say, that was probably one of the best efforts I’ve seen for a first race for a new league. Mind you, this is the first I’ve experienced, but I can tell you that both the Sprint Grand Prix and the Ironman Enduro ran smoother than I expected. There are still a few kinks that need to be worked out, but if they keep the great effort up, I can see this league getting bigger and a lot more competitive.
As for my results, well, it definitely could have been better.

Greetings. We are pleased to announce our Time Attack S2K will smoke some tires at this Sunday’s Gymkhana Gird Media event. What is Gymkhana? Click here and see what the Gymkhana Grid is all about. For us, it is pure adrenaline, cone dodging, gluttonous adrenaline. It’s lot’s of smoke and years of precision driving out the window. Peep Adrian at GymkhanaUSA back in 2007 before RaceLikeBunnies inception.
How do you tackle a parking lot filled with cones vs an actual racetrack?
Because the course is alot more technical and low speed, our general approach was to get the rear to rotate faster at low speeds. We first swapped the rear tires with a set of used, heat-cycled RE050. Next, we stiffened the rear suspension to induce more oversteer. Our last step would be to fine tune tire pressures at the event.
Hope to see you there!

Hey! Brian here. I know I haven’t been posting as much as I should, I’ve been busy with my full time job and karting with CIRKL (California Indoor Racing Kart League | FaceBook Fan Page | Official Website | Spring 2010 Results) for the first half of 2010. Although I finished 5th in the Lightweight division and 7th out of 28th overall for the Spring Season of 2010, I felt I needed to find another channel to hone my karting skills.

To say RaceLikeBunnies.com and teamRLB is having a lackluster year, would be an understatement. The truth is, our lives outside of RLB has taken the majority of our time, and the end result has been somewhat of a ghost town of a website. You see, we are not insiders or industry leaders. We are regular people, and with the help of many great friends we have met along the way, have succeeded to where we are today. It is only natural to want to keep that ball rolling, but as I was told today from a co-worker, “Sometimes, you need to step back in order to step forward.” With our extremely tight budgets, we missed events. By missing events, we lack coverage. With the lack of coverage, we lack content. With the lack of content, we lose traffic. No traffic, no sales. And no sales, means tighter budget. It is an endless cycle that I only blame myself for. However, we are not down for the count. We are all motivated, ambitious, and dedicated individuals. Besides, we still have the other half of the year to do it BIG.
Thank you,
Adrian Torres, RaceLikeBunnies.com

With only three weeks left until Round 3 of Redline Time Attack at AutoClub Speedway, the EF civic is undergoing some serious changes. With the old powertrain out and the new one currently getting built, the civic is left as a rolling chassis. Therefore, we are sad to announce that teamRLB will have to miss Round 3 of Redline Time Attack. Both drivers feel that it is unfortunate to have to miss this event, especially, considering its proximity to many friends and family. We will hopefully see you at the next round at Willow Springs.
